Prof Hamish Laing is a Professor in Enhanced Innovation, Engagement and Outcomes at Swansea University, Wales, UK. In 2018 he was appointed to a personal chair in the School of Management, he has established a programme focussed on Value-Based Healthcare which led to his appointment in 2021 as Director of the Value-Based Health and Care (VBHC) Academy.
Until 2018, he was a reconstructive plastic surgeon in the NHS, during which time he established and led the South Wales Sarcoma Service.
He was awarded Senior Founding Fellowship of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management in recognition of his contribution to the UK NHS and Fellowship of the Faculty of Clinical Informatics.
